Trip Overview

Damodar Saribung is to the north east of Mustang region, where the rugged landscapes and ancient customs come together and are hardly ever visited by westerners. The trek starts from Jomsom and heads into Mustang towards the Damodar Saribung traverse crossing several high passes including the Saribung La 5600m. Eventually after some high altitude camping the trail drops down into Phu. From
here there are various options for the latter stages of the trek.

Saribung Expedition route is challenging and takes in a moderately difficult high pass. This peak involves a little technical climbing at altitude and in a remote area. Dry rugged terrain and glacier travel along with couple of sections of fixed line requiring the use of a jumar will means that participants have a basic ideal of ‘winter skills’.

Saribung Trek can also be done in anti-clockwise direction for which the trek start from Phu and then ascend to Saribung pass before entering into the Mustang ‘Hidden Valley’ and Jomsom.
