Trip Overview

Mustang is such a remarkable region of Nepal with a landscape more attuned to the Tibetan Plateau than the lush lower region of the Annapurna Range. Over the last few years Mustang has undergone a remarkable transformation, from being a Kingdom with its own Monarchy to a Nepal State undergoing rapid and to a certain extent un-monitored development.
To visit the remarkable cave dwellings only recently discovered, to traversing the eastern and very remote side of the Kali Gandaki River is a trip that certainly needs to be accomplished before it is too late.
The real Mustang experience starts in Lo Manthang and by undertaking this trek participants will be able to avoid all of those areas being developed and get to the real heart of the matter. The lodges on the return leg although they are ‘local’ standard they are clean and provide good food and of course give access to some stunning and some of the more unusual mountains in Nepal.
