The Annapurna Sanctuary trek, also known as Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is one of the shortest major treks in Nepal and leads into a close encounter with the mighty South Face of Annapurna. The trek initially passes through the lowland bamboo forests and rhododendrons before making its way up through the Modi Khola Gorge into the mountain amphitheatre that is the Annapurna Sanctuary. This high glacial cwm is a wild Himalayan environment ringed by ten of the most impressive peaks in Nepal, including Annapurna I, Annapurna II, and Machapuchare. This trek is suitable for all trekkers regardless of experience as it is a relatively low level trek.
