Trip Overview

Annapurna Three Passes Trek is a challenging alternative to the usual Annapurna Circuit and is a recently developed route eliminating much to the road element sections of the circuit. This trail includes visiting some ancient settlements and unique terrain that is found in the Annapurna region and ultimately crossing three major high passes, Namun Bhanjyang 5560m, Kang La 5306m, Eastern Pass 5340m and Mesokanto La at 5330m.

The trek starts from Sikles village then follows the old trade route that links Pokhara to the communities in the Marsyangdi valley. Continuing north up the hidden valley to Phu before returning to cross the Kang La and into Manang on the Annapurna Circuit. Leaving the best and hardest to last the trail goes to Tilicho Lake before crossing the Eastern Pass 5340m and Mesokanto La 5330m and then dropping down into Mustang. This trek passes through the very heart of the Annapurna Himal and the ethnic communities (Gurung, Magar, Tibetan Buddhist and Thakali).

This challenging 24 day long trek suitable for individuals who have prior trekking experience at altitude and are physically fit. Although this trek can be done in lodge accommodation camping will allow the freedom to select the more remote overnight stops.
